Within a day of each other, two founders of startups acquired by Facebook said they are departing the company.
Shortly after Facebook announced yesterday (Aug. 27) that 1 billion people had used the social network in a single day, Josh Miller, founder and CEO of Branch, made his own announcement that it was his last day at the company. Miller joined Facebook in January 2014 when his eight-person startup was bought by Facebook. As a product manager, he oversaw the development of Rooms, Facebook's forum app.
Today, we announced 1 billion people used Facebook in 24 hours. It's was also my last day at the company. More on what's next very soon!

Following that news, Ilya Sukhar, who founded the development platform Parse, said today that he was also leaving the company. Facebook acquired Parse in April 2013 so it could offer backend tools for mobile developers. At the company, Sukhar was the face of the social network's development initiatives. This past March, he took the stage at Facebook's F8 conference to unveil new tools that let programmers build apps for connected devices. In May, he said he had moved over to Messenger.
1/ Personal news: Today is my last day at Facebook. It was an exhilirating adventure at a remarkable co. But it’s time to do something new.

The fact that they're leaving Facebook isn't entirely surprising. It's commonplace for founders to exit after their companies have been acquired, and both Miller and Sukhar hinted at new projects.
Facebook did not immediately respond to a request for comment on their departures.
